Join us for an unforgettable evening of classical music at the Strauss & Schubert concert, part of the renowned Colorado MahlerFest. This special event takes place on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 7:30 PM in the historic Macky Auditorium, located at 1595 Pleasant Street, Boulder.

The evening will commence with a pre-concert discussion at 6:30 PM by Nick Pfefferkorn, offering insights and enriching your concert experience. The program features Schubert's String Quartet No. 14 in D minor, D. 810, "Death and the Maiden," arranged by Mahler, followed by Strauss's monumental An Alpine Symphony, Op. 64. These pieces not only showcase the composers' brilliance but also their unique relationship, reflecting each other's styles and achievements through their music.

Under the baton of Kenneth Woods, the MahlerFest Orchestra will bring these masterpieces to life, celebrating the legacy of Mahler and Strauss, two giants of the classical music world who supported and inspired each other's work.
