Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival: Tribute to Borys Liatoshynsky

The Kaufman Music Center writes:

Many of Ukraine’s contemporary composers can trace their pedagogical lineage back to Liatoshynsky. In our second concert, we will chart the variety of ways Ukrainian music has developed since Liatoshynsky’s death by exploring the music of his “descendants.” This will include pieces from the generation of his first students, the dissident composers of the 1960s, through to the youngest Ukrainian composers writing today.
