The Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic opens the 2023-24 season with an entire program of thrilling and dramatic works by Shostakovich, including his gripping Symphony No. 5 in D minor. The program will also include the winner of the 2023 Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic Soloist Competition, Elizabeth Hur, who will perform Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor.
