Benjamin Grosvenor

Capital Region Classical

Join us for an enchanting evening with Benjamin Grosvenor, piano, at Union College's Memorial Chapel in Schenectady, NY, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 7:30 PM. This special event, part of the Capital Region Classical series, celebrates CRC's 50th Anniversary Campaign with a performance by one of today's most acclaimed pianists. Grosvenor, known for his exquisite lyricism and technical mastery, will present seminal works by Chopin and Liszt, both 19th-century virtuosos themselves. The program includes Chopin's F-sharp major Barcarolle, Op. 60, and B-minor Sonata, Op. 58, alongside Liszt's B-minor Sonata and D-flat major Berceuse, S. 174.

This performance is lovingly sponsored in memory of Elana Glinert, for whom classical music was a true joy. Attendees are also invited to join our Honorary Committee for a pre-concert dinner and other benefits, enhancing the evening's experience. Doors open 45 minutes before the concert, with general admission seating. In a gesture to inspire future generations, all kids and college students are admitted free at the door.

British pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is celebrated worldwide for his sonorous interpretations, underpinned by a unique balance of technical mastery and intense musicality. His performances are a testament to his status as one of the most important pianists of our time, with a repertoire that spans concertos with leading orchestras to intimate recitals and chamber music collaborations.

Don't miss this opportunity to experience the artistry of Benjamin Grosvenor in a program that promises to be a highlight of the classical music season.
