This summer, Ballet Hawaii is thrilled to present an exclusive performance featuring two remarkable ballets, "Urashima Taro" and "By George," as the grand finale of its three-week Summer Intensive training program. This unique event brings together students and professional guest dancers for a one-time-only performance on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 4:00 pm, hosted at the Leeward Community College's Leeward Theatre.

"Urashima Taro" draws inspiration from the beloved Japanese folktale of a young fisherman's extraordinary undersea adventures. The ballet boasts original music composed by Ballet Hawaii's own talented accompanist, Takashi Koshi, and features fresh choreography by Christine Kaminski, a Ballet Hawaii teacher and director of the Performing Ensemble. The enchanting costumes are the work of Yoshie Huffman, adding to the visual splendor of the performance.

The second piece, "By George," is a vibrant celebration of George Gershwin's music, choreographed by Tom Pazik. Set by Maiqui Mañosa, this ballet promises to be a fun-filled showcase, featuring guest artists courtesy of Eugene Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Cleveland Ballet, and Sacramento Ballet, ensuring an unforgettable experience.
