Join us for an unforgettable evening under the canopy of the Benedict Music Tent on August 15, 2021, at 4:00 PM MT, as the Aspen Festival Orchestra presents a concert featuring the works of Beethoven and Dvořák. This special performance, part of the Aspen Music Festival and School's summer season, is a celebration of classical music's enduring power and beauty.

The concert will open with Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, op. 61, a piece renowned for its lyrical beauty and virtuosic demands. James Ehnes, hailed by The Guardian as "effusively lyrical...hair-raisingly virtuosic," will grace the stage as the violin soloist. Ehnes brings a deep connection to this piece, having cherished it since his teenage years in Manitoba for its "incredibly uplifting and optimistic" spirit.

Following the Beethoven, the orchestra will perform Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major, B. 163, op. 88. This symphony, full of joy and pastoral euphoria, reflects Dvořák's love for the natural world. Dame Jane Glover, acclaimed for her expressive nuance and rhythmic excitement, will conduct these splendid masterworks, promising an evening of unforgettable musical experiences.
