Persephone Theatre proudly presents "It's Okay to be Different," a captivating production specially designed for young audiences. This unique show, running from February 29 to March 3, 2024, brings to life three beloved children's books by NY Times best-selling author Todd Parr through the enchanting art of puppetry, black light, and theatrical magic.

"It’s Okay to Be Different" delivers powerful messages of acceptance, understanding, and self-confidence in a clever and engaging manner. Alongside, "The Earth Book" offers a heartfelt tribute to our planet, encouraging readers of all ages to contribute to its well-being. "This is My Hair" adds a humorous touch, exploring the fun and silliness of hair, and reminding everyone to feel good about themselves regardless of appearance.

This production is brought to you by the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, known for their unique adaptations of children’s literary classics that have delighted over six million spectators across four continents. Recommended for children aged 3 and up, the show promises to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

The cast and creative team feature talented individuals such as Alex Cubbon and Joylyn Secunda as performers, Kate Redding as the stage manager, Jim Morrow taking on the roles of director and production designer, with music composed by Asif Illyas and sound produced by Shehab Illyas. Rebecca Thomas lends her voice as the narrator, bringing the stories to life with warmth and vibrancy.

In addition to the performances, Persephone Theatre is excited to offer a coloring contest for the young and young at heart. Downloadable coloring sheets are available, providing a fun and creative way to engage with the themes of the show.
