Guelaguetza Oaxaqueña is not just a festival; it's a lively and joyful expression of mutual interdependence and the importance of sharing, reciprocity, and extended community within indigenous cultures. The term "Guelaguetza" originates from the Zapotec language, symbolizing the reciprocal exchanges of gifts and services, a tradition that has been the cornerstone of these communities for generations.

Founded in 2014 by maestro Edgar Yepez, Ballet Folklórico de Austin brings together youth and adults from our community to showcase a memorable program of beautiful dances and colorful, authentic regional dress. This performance is a prime example of Mexican culture, leaving a lasting impression on Austin's memory.

Event attendees will also have exclusive access to the Member Lounge before and during the show, where they can enjoy a private bar and the West Pincer Terrace with stunning skyline views of downtown Austin.
