This remarkable concert marks the inauguration of a unique festival curated by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, centered around the theme of Heimat—a concept of belonging and home. For the first time, this festival invites school classes from Berlin and the surrounding areas to actively engage and contribute, making it a truly community-centered event.

The concert will take place at the serene Silent Green in Berlin, starting at 19:00. It promises an enriching experience not just for families but for adults seeking insightful cultural engagement. The program features an exquisite selection of works including B. Bartók's Rumanian Folk Dances, D. Shostakovich's Chamber Symphony, and W.A. Mozart's Overture from Don Giovanni, K. 527. Under the leadership of concertmaster Sebastian Breuninger, with Anna Matz and Valentina-Katharina Georgoulopoulos moderating, the evening is set to be a memorable one.

This event is open to the public and free of charge, welcoming audiences aged 11 and over. In an effort to make the concert accessible to all, the moderation and subsequent discussion will be translated into German sign language.
