Jason Moran, a renowned pianist, composer, and artist from Houston, TX, has also made significant contributions to the world of film and literature, composing scores for Ava DuVernay’s "Selma" and "13th," as well as for Ta-Nehisi Coates’ staged version of "Between the World and Me."

As the Artistic Director for Jazz at The Kennedy Center, Moran's influence extends beyond performance, shaping the future of jazz education and curation. His teaching roles at New England Conservatory and Jazz Ahead, along with his curatorial work for the Artist’s Studio series at Park Avenue Armory in New York City, underscore his commitment to the development of jazz as a dynamic and evolving art form.
