Marcus Miller, with his extensive career spanning several decades, has earned a reputation for his exceptional skills across a variety of instruments including bass, guitar, vocals, saxophone, clarinet, keyboards, and recorder. Having worked with icons like Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and Luther Vandross, Miller brings a depth of experience and a unique sound to the stage. His contributions to music were recognized in 2021 when he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Bass Player magazine.

Bob James, known for his exploratory approach to music and boundary-breaking sound, has been a pivotal figure in jazz since his college days. His early recognition came when his band won the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival in 1962, judged by none other than Henry Mancini and Quincy Jones. James's debut album, "Bold Conceptions," produced by Quincy Jones, set the stage for a career that would evolve into the smooth jazz for which he is renowned today.

The evening promises to be a celebration of jazz, with performances that highlight the rich musical journeys of both Marcus Miller and Bob James. The event is part of the 45th Annual Tri-C JazzFest, a festival known for bringing together the best in jazz music.
