Join us for an unforgettable evening with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra as we present "Beethoven & Mahler" on Thursday, 6th March 2025, at 7:30pm in the prestigious Symphony Hall, Birmingham. This concert promises an exploration of the wonders of the natural world through the lens of two of classical music's giants.

The evening will commence with Beethoven's Symphony No.6, also known as the "Pastoral Symphony," a piece celebrated for its cheerful depiction of the countryside, complete with songs of merry gatherings. Following this, the mood shifts with Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde" (The Song of the Earth), a composition that contrasts boisterous drinking songs with a profound acceptance of human mortality and the eternal renewal of the earth.

We are thrilled to welcome back the brilliant Alpesh Chauhan, who will lead the orchestra through these masterpieces. The powerful vocal solos will be performed by Karen Cargill (Mezzo Soprano) and Brendan Gunnell (Tenor), promising an evening of breathtaking performances.

Tickets are priced between £26 and £62, with a per-ticket commission of £3.50 for tickets over £15. We offer a range of discounts, including multi-buy offers and reduced prices for students, 18-30s, under-18s, and benefit recipients, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience this magnificent concert.
