While Connla remains a significant part of his career, the covid shutdown allowed Conor to delve into a solo project that had been brewing for years, resulting in the creation of "Unearthed." This beautiful album pays homage to tradition while exploring the expansive potential of the uilleann pipes.

Conor Mallon, hailing from Keady, Co. Armagh, began his musical journey with the Armagh Pipers Club, eventually becoming one of its senior teachers. He is the first recipient of the ACNI/BBC NI Young Traditional Musicians Platform award, has performed with the Ulster Orchestra and the award-winning Foden’s Brass Band, and is a Senior County, Ulster, and All-Ireland Champion on Uilleann Pipes in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, among other accolades.

"Unearthed" features Jack Warnock on acoustic guitar and vocals and Fintan Mulholland on bodhran and whistles. The project is a reflection of Conor's focus on his own compositions and arrangements during a period of reflection, aiming to unearth the unique sounds of the Uilleann Pipes and use them as a percussive element within his original compositions. "Unearthed" is a nod to traditions of the past, pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity while maintaining a deep respect for the source.
