Pomona College

The Pomona College Orchestra opens the season with an exciting program with music by Barber, Liszt, Mozart, and Wagner. On the podium this fall is Tony Rowe, who takes the helm with Eric Lindholm on sabbatical. A prize-winning conductor, Rowe has led collegiate orchestras from Vassar College to Cambridge, and Indiana Universities. A prizewinner at the Leeds Conductors’ Competition and Fulton Memorial Fellowship winner, he studied with Seiji Ozawa and Leonard Bernstein at Tanglewood. He has worked with noted conductors Gustav Meier, Michael Tilson Thomas, Sir David Willcocks and Sir Roger Norrington, among others and served as Music Director of the Gilbert and Sullivan Musical Theatre Company in New York, as well as appearing as guest conductor with orchestras in the US and UK.
