The 2024 C-U Folk and Roots Festival kicks off with a mesmerizing performance by Miguel Espinoza Fusion at Krannert Center’s Stage 5. This Denver-based quartet, featuring Miguel Espinoza on guitar, Dianne Betkowski on cello, Randy Hoepker on bass, and David Hinojosa on dumbek, cajon, and percussion, invites the audience into a rich and colorful symposium of world musical traditions. Their sound is a transformative blend of flamenco, classical, and jazz, interwoven with North African rhythms, Celtic whimsy, and Brazilian expressions, creating a vibrant and deeply emotive musical experience.
