#### Event Overview:
The inaugural **Al Downing Honors at the Palladium** is a prestigious event celebrating the legacy of Al Downing, a Jazz Music Icon, Tuskegee Airman, and Professor of Music. This event is part of the annual Al Downing Day of St. Petersburg, proclaimed in 2023 to honor Mr. Alvin Joseph Downing (1916-2000), who was also known as the Ambassador of Jazz by the Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation.

#### Purpose:
The Al Downing Honors aims to celebrate and preserve Jazz as an original American art form created by African Americans. It acknowledges the contributions of those who have perpetuated Jazz and paved the way for future generations of Jazz enthusiasts.
