With events like 'Bohème & Beyond', a tribute to Puccini’s indelible impact, and 'Remedios Varios Para las Aflicciones del Cuerpo y el Espíritu', a surreal exploration of cultural resilience, COT is pushing the boundaries of opera. The poignant 'She Who Dared' further highlights the power of opera to narrate stories of bravery and social change. These operas reflect on history, imagination, and the human spirit, marking a riveting season ahead.

Opera’s Evolution: From Puccini’s Legacy to Cultural Regeneration and Civil Rights

As companies around the globe celebrate the centennial of Giacomo Puccini’s death in 2024,  COT  presents a unique concert that highlights how Puccini’s work impacted the evolution of opera and musical theater. This special event will feature beloved arias and ensembles from Puccini’s operas alongside a variety of scenes from operas and musicals by composers who were influenced by the great Italian composer, including Franz Lehár, Leoš Janacek, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Gian Carlo Menotti, Daniel Catán, Richard Rodgers, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Jonathan Larson.  Featured guest artists will be announced this summer.
