Experience the timeless beauty of Johann Sebastian Bach's music in a captivating performance at the Rīgas Sv. Pāvila baznīca. Renowned for its cosmic and eternal qualities, Bach's music has been celebrated as one of humanity's greatest artistic achievements, with fragments of his compositions even included on the Golden Record aboard the Voyager spacecraft. This event will feature some of Bach's most brilliant works, performed by Ilona Birģele, one of Latvia's finest organists. 

Ilona Birģele, a distinguished alumna of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and the Enschede Music Conservatory, is the principal organist at St. James's Cathedral and the founder of the historic organ festival "Latvia - Land of Organs." Her illustrious career includes numerous international competitions and festival appearances, with performances across Europe and beyond. Joining her is guest organist Diāna Jaunzeme-Portnaja, also a graduate of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, who has honed her craft in masterclasses and competitions throughout Europe.

Together, these accomplished musicians will present a four-handed rendition of the monumental Brandenburg Concerto in F major and the vibrant and virtuosic Prelude in C minor from the first volume of "The Well-Tempered Clavier." This concert promises to be a profound musical dialogue with the universe, showcasing the enduring legacy of Bach's compositions through the majestic sound of the organ.
