Leon Botstein unearths more rarely heard masterpieces in this concert examining Eastern European music through the rise and fall of Soviet communism, from Szymanowski’s 1918 Songs of the Infatuated Muezzin to Russian composer Boris Tishchenko’s Fifth Symphony, and György Kurtág’s early-21st-century …concertante…. Hear this program at the Fisher Center just days before TŌN performs it at Carnegie Hall.
