SMC Jazz Ensemble, SMC Chamber Choir, SMC Concert Chorale, and SMC Jazz Vocal Ensemble: “SMC Sings Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts”

Using excerpts from Duke Ellington’s three Sacred Concert settings as the centerpiece — and accompanied by showcase performances from each of the ensembles — the SMC Music Department presents a collaboration among two conductors, four music ensembles, and guest soloists in a performance that celebrates the merging of music from the jazz club with the profundity of sacred ideals.
