Opening with inquisitive and stubborn Byzantine scales in the Maric, follow Boccherini through an evening of 18th century Madrid street sounds. The Mozart, featuring brilliant soloist Orion Weiss, and the Mendelssohn, with its groovy "Saltarello" finale, round out this celebration of the ostinato—the persistent, repeating musical phrase upon which musicians have improvised for centuries.
