January's concert is a celebration of some of history's greatest love stories - and the music that brought them to life. Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe is a luxurious score that beautifully captures the blossoming of young love in a pastoral setting. Romeo and Juliet has inspired unforgettable music from many composers, from Tchaikovsky to Berstein. This time, we turn to Prokofiev, whose energetic and exotic score vividly expresses the passion and tragedy of these iconic, star-crossed lovers.

Celebrate America's rich musical melting pot with great works from some of our finest composers. The first half features Duke Ellington's evocative tone poem and Artie Shaw's rarely performed Clarinet Concerto. Then, Gershwin's iconic An American in Paris shows us how American musicians blended jazz and classical elements in ways that make this unique fusion feel both natural and inevitable.

From Brass To The Blues

Come and experience some of the greatest music from the world of opera. Overtures, dance suites, and entr'actes - from beloved classics to exciting new favorites - offer a glimpse into the rich musical worlds of some of opera's most iconic works. Conductor Bruce Kiesling will introduce each piece with his signature charm, wit, and humor before leading the orchestra in performance of this colorful and compelling music.

Wrap up the season with the best of the best! Time for Three returns with Ranaan Meyer, double bass & vocals, Nick Kendall, violin & vocals, and Charles Yang, violin & vocals with a brand-new concerto by Mason Bates, written especially for them. The Sequoia Symphony also premiers an exciting new concert opener by Time for Three bassist, Ranaan Meyer. The season then comes to a thrilling close with Respighi's breathtaking Pines of Rome.
