The story centers around an English writer, Cliff Bradshaw, who becomes involved with the mysterious and free-spirited performer Sally Bowles at the Kit Kat Klub, a nightclub filled with decadence and dark political undertones. As their relationship develops, the looming political unrest begins to threaten their lives and the carefree world around them.

This action-packed new play set in 1998 spotlights the Lady Train high school basketball team in Plainnole, Arkansas. Following the recent formation of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the players dream of going pro. First, they must face the pressures of being young, Black, and female in the rural South as setbacks on and off the court threaten to break the team apart.

The stage is spare and unstable, centered on a single mobile cart that transforms in full view—from shelter to podium, clinic, and work station. These shifts mirror lives built from temporary arrangements, always subject to reconfiguration. Sound and light echo everyday digital life: notification hums, cold screen glows, and songs that interrupt rather than soothe. We meet the four players: Roco, Moonpie, Toshi, and Juniper over the course of a day as Toshi and Juniper navigate their own shit while preparing Roco and Moonpie for their first date since the pandemic.
