Throughout his glittering career, Robert Lindsay has been asked, "What made you want to be an actor?". The question he asked himself was what kind of actor he wanted to be. While filming Citizen Smith, BBC producer Dennis Main-Wilson asked him, "Are you an actor or a performer?".
