During the Second World War, 330,000 Canadians passed through Aldershot Camp, training there before taking up the defence of the UK while most of the British soldiers were away. This talk will focus on the Canadians stationed in Surrey. In total, 23,000 Canadians were based in Surrey, often occupying large country houses requisitioned by the military.
