Esbjerg Ensemble: Opening concert

Before Beethoven began writing his lifelong series of string quartets (in 1801), he composed four string trios. In this dramatic and voluminous trio, it almost seems as if he is preparing for the string quartets that were to set new standards for how expressive and profound chamber music can be.
