About this performance: There are some shared themes between this concert and our fall concert, although there are certainly some marked contrasts. The “Danse Bacchanale” by Camille Saint-Saëns is another dance (alluding to Anna Clyne’s DANCE), but with bacchanale referring to a wild party with drunken revelry. And Potentia is a new work based upon a poem, as was DANCE. Commissioned by Orchestra Santa Monica, Potentia presents a poem of the same...
