More details
In the time of Mozart, a Harmonie was a group of wind players, typically an octet, employed by aristocratic patrons to provide outdoor entertainment and serve as the wind section of the court orchestra. Much loved by the public, Harmoniemusik for these ensembles included original compositions and arrangements of popular opera arias.
