Cygnet Theatre

Cygnet Theatre, established in 2003, has grown into one of San Diego's prominent theatre companies, recognized for its adventurous, entertaining, and thought-provoking live performances. Initially operating in a 165-seat venue in San Diego's Rolando area, Cygnet quickly gained a reputation for high-caliber productions, with nearly half being local premieres. In 2008, the theatre relocated to the 246-seat Old Town Theatre in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, allowing it to reach over 40,000 patrons annually. Cygnet Theatre is committed to presenting a diverse array of voices, balancing new works with classics and musicals. The theatre's name, inspired by the Swan Theatre of Elizabethan England, reflects its ambition to rival the quality of San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. Cygnet Theatre continues to engage the community through various programs, including youth and military engagement, and offers opportunities for planned giving to ensure its sustainability for future generations.
