Continuing on from last years 50th anniversary celebrations of Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, the multi-million-selling and multi-award-winning album will be performed live in concert at the Cornwall Playhouse!

Tubular Bells is world-renowned as one of the most celebrated examples of music in film for its soundtracking of horror classic The Exorcist. Its legacy was cemented with Oldfield’s performance of the album’s main theme at the iconic London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony, one of the rare performances of the project he has given.

The Band of HM Royal Marines Plymouth performed at the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall in 2020, this included performing for HRH Prince Harry’s final duty as a working Royal. In 2021 the band were involved in both HM Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee celebrations as well as being one of the many military contingents for the funeral of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in April 2021. They were also involved, as were so many others, at the State funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
