Valley Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, established in 2009, is a non-profit organization situated in the San Fernando Valley. The orchestra focuses on providing young musicians the opportunity to perform a comprehensive classical symphonic repertoire. Members, drawn from the local community, receive guidance from experienced instructors, facilitating individual growth and ensemble performance. The orchestra hosts annual concerts in Winter and Spring, with rehearsals taking place every Sunday evening at In-Christ Community Church in Porter Ranch. High school participants are eligible for the President’s Volunteer Service Award, contributing to community service credits. The organization was founded by Jahyeong Jackie Koo, a distinguished pianist with extensive accolades and international performance experience. Ms. Koo, a graduate of Sun-Hwa Performing Arts School in Seoul and a doctoral candidate at USC, has served as an adjunct professor and is affiliated with several prestigious music associations.
