Daisy Daisy is Nicola Farnon and Julia Waldron, two well-established solo artists and firm friends who combined their talents in September 2016. Their gutsy original music, stage banter, and obvious love of performing continue to attract audiences and sell-out venues.

They say that when you’ve met one autistic person, you’ve met one autistic person – because autism is a spectrum.

However, it does seem that many of those on the Spectrum experience greater levels of anxiety than those who aren’t. This heightened anxiety comes into play when the autistic person is faced with ‘transition’ – from home to independent living, school to college or university, not working to working. ‘Moving On’ is about all that.

Stepping Out

David Alnwick (The Mystery of Dracula, The Signalman) returns to The Lantern with the premiere of his first full-length theatre show: Charles Dickens’ ‘THE HAUNTED HOUSE,’ a supernatural murder mystery.


Five strangers are invited, by a mutual friend, to a secluded house for an evening of ghost stories inspired by Dickens’ classic tale. Cut off from the outside world and stranded until morning, the night takes a deadly turn when one guest is found dead in a locked room.

Following, in the footsteps of his comedy-folk heroes (Mike Harding, Jasper Carrott, Billy Connolly, Richard Digance, Jake Thackeray et al), here, the Doonicans' side-splitting song-smithery, comes to the fore, often accompanied by with an abundance of cracking yarns, giving a charming insight to the inspiration behind them. He's on a mission to bring comedy-folk back to the masses for the 21st Century.

Following a couple of Fetes Of Quirk through the years, 2025 sees the combination of Pocket Satellite, Lofter, and Duncan Parsons come together again for Quarks And Quonstellations, a festival celebrating the wonder of small things and the patterns all around us.

It's an evening of acoustic music, of joy, of connecting dots, of silliness and tender sensibilities, all within the intimate space of the beloved Lantern Theatre. There will be music boxes, glockenspiels, strange instruments, and harmonies of wonder. Not bad for Saturday night as Spring approaches!

It is enormously pleasing to be welcoming Heather Findlay to The Lantern! Heather burst upon the musical scene in 1997 with Mostly Autumn, staying with them for 13 years, as well as having side projects such as Odin Dragonfly. A solo artist since 2010, she has continued to experiment with different band formats, including recent work with The Bee Tellers.

Del Scott Miller has been part of the Barnsley and Sheffield music scene for a couple of decades, and yet somehow he's never played at The Lantern. This oversight will now be corrected!

Across his work in bands such as Mynas, many collaboration projects, and solo work, Del has demonstrated a focus in his songwriting, a depth in his lyric, and a heart in his playing that stands alongside the best this nation has produced. He brings songs of family, of work class struggle, of life on the street and down the pit, speaking from the past to the present and looking to the future.
