Clermont Auvergne Opéra is organizing a singing masterclass for students from Alice Ungerer's singing class (Emmanuel-Chabrier Conservatory of Clermont-Ferrand) and supervised by tenor Florian Laconi . It will take place in the exceptional setting of the great hall of the Opera-Théâtre and will be open to the public.

The second part of his trilogy, which began with Rigoletto and ended with La Traviata , this opera with its many twists and turns brings together all the ingredients of a swashbuckling novel: castles, soldiers, the stake, outlaws and extreme situations that the characters, driven by heightened passions, love, jealousy, hatred and the desire for revenge, must face... Verdi composes here a dark and flamboyant work, where witches, troubadours, gypsies and princesses give life to an opera of unprecedented brilliance.

Step into an opera box with stealth and open your little ears wide. The singer Aria Di Tralala is getting ready to give her concert and is warming up her voice. When she notices that children have slipped into her box, the Diva offers them a recital just for them through excerpts from the greatest opera arias. Vibrate with Aria for a first initiation to Lyrical Art, which will also be an opportunity for the older ones to (re)discover classics from the repertoire.

The 28th edition of Clermont-Ferrand International Opera Singing Competition will feature Purcell’s only opera, Dido and Æneas, with support from the baroque ensemble Les Surprises, Handel’s most famous oratorio, Der Messias, adapted into German by Mozart, a new production by Limoges Opera, and a Piano – Vocal Duo based on lieder and French melodies, whose performers will get, in particular, a residency at the Royaumont Foundation.

Sophie Lacaze unveils her latest chamber opera inspired by the culture of the Australian Aborigines. A true ode to nature and the suffering world around us,  The Inexhaustible Fabric of Dreams  features a Western artist immersed in a legend from the Dreamtime about the creation of the world. This genesis accomplished, the gods of the Milky Way are stunned when looking at the Earth: they would never have thought that such beauty could exist. But when the artist wakes up, the Earth is not, is no longer as in her dream.

The Inexhaustible Fabric of Dreams

The ambition of this national event is to introduce opera houses and lyrical art. How? By attending rehearsals of shows, discovering the backstage or participating in workshops, conferences or meetings with artists, technicians. So many proposals offered to all that are the opportunity to better know the activities and professions of the opera.

All to the Opera

A long time ago, in Sicily... Galatea was a sea nymph, a Nereid, who lived on the island inhabited by the Cyclops Polyphemus, son of Poseidon, who was deeply in love with her. But Galatea loved the young shepherd Acis, son of Pan. The jealous Cyclops Polyphemus crushes Acis under a rock. Fortunately, sea nymphs have special powers and Acis is granted immortality, transformed by Galatea into a gushing fountain.

While going to inspect a warship, a high commissioner, accompanied by his daughter, does not suspect that the rolling caused by his presence will upset hearts: his daughter is pining for two sailors and her father is infatuated with an actress.
