Named after the legendary violinist Adolf Busch, this European ensemble has emerged as one of their generation’s ‘leading piano trios’ (Süddeutsche Zeitung). Described as playing with ‘effortless musicianship’ (The Times) and great emotional sensitivity, Mathieu van Bellen (violin), Ori Epstein (cello), and Omri Epstein (piano) met in London during their studies at the Royal College of Music, more than a decade ago. In recent seasons, Busch Trio has performed at Konzerthaus Berlin, Wigmore Hall in London, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Théâtre des Champs Élysées in Paris and across the US and Canada. Having recored 8 CDs on Alpha Classics since 2016, their most recent 2023 release, Ravel & Shostakovich: Piano Trios, was called “a first-rate issue” by Gramophone and “absolutely overwhelming” by BBC Music Magazine. They are currently in the process of recording a further 5 CDs of Beethoven’s Complete Piano Trios. The Busch Trio performs on the Ex-Adolf Busch, 1783 G.B. Guadagnini violin and and an 1815 G.B. Ceruti cello. The Trio members live in Amsterdam and maintain their intensive rehearsal and performance schedule.

Sarah Jarosz released her debut album at the age of 18 and was immediately nominated for her first GRAMMY. Raised in Texas, she began playing mandolin at age 10 with guitar and banjo soon after. To date, she has released six studio albums, has netted ten GRAMMY Nominations, and four wins. In 2018, she joined Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek and Aoife O’Donovan to form the supergroup, I’m With Her. The group released their debut album See You Around, and won duo/group of the year at the Americana Awards. Their song, ‘Call My Name’ won the GRAMMY for Best American Roots Song. Four-time GRAMMY winner Sarah Jarosz has announced her new album, Polaroid Lovers. The record is set for release on January 26, 2024 via Rounder Records. Marcus King faces heartache, addiction, and mental health head-on in his music. Pain quakes below the vibrato of his voice, and his delivery weighs heavy with booze-drenched regrets and mistakes in lonely hotels. During 2020, he linked up with Dan Auerbach and cut his solo debut, El Dorado, garnering a Grammy Award nomination for “Best Americana Album.” Between headlining venues, he performed alongside Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, and Nathanial Rateliff in addition to gracing the bills of Stagecoach and more. He has launched various mental health initiatives, including a guitar auction collaboration with MusiCares. Now, his 2024 album Mood Swings feels like the moment of baptism when water washes away a life’s worth of sins and degradation and all that’s left is a revived, yet still real-as-hell primal scream. It’s as if King strained raw soul straight from his gut up through that broken heart and onto the record under the watchful eye of Rick Rubin. Emphasizing his vocals front-and-center more than ever before, the trusty guitar he’s so often associated with plays the sideman this time around (though there’s no shortage of impressive shredding). For as dark as everything seemed, you can’t help but feel a sense of hope in the power of Marcus’s voice.

The Not Clowns return to Strings with their unique blend of comedy, juggling, music, a whole new arsenal of magic tricks, and something they call “dance.” For nearly 28 years the troupe has been entertaining audiences in the Yampa Valley and across the globe. They have taken the stage as far away as the Netherlands and they won Silver at the International Jugglers’ Association competition in Montreal. After a four-year hiatus, the Not Clowns triumphantly return to Strings Pavilion to celebrate!
