A Symphony of Sounds: Exploring the Magic of Thüringer Bachwochen Events

Six crystal-clear voices sing about the power of community. Especially during Advent. With Renaissance polyphony, English baroque music and Scandinavian folk songs, the Leipzig vocal ensemble dedicates itself to the wonders of (Christmas) night and Nordic mythology. This concert is a wonderful opportunity to come together and playfully celebrate new forms of community. We invite you to a cosy get-together - with mulled wine until everyone is singing along.

Enjoy Johann Sebastian Bach's solo suites in Savasana: after a yoga session, you can embark on a musical journey on your own yoga mat or on blankets. The duo plays Bach's most famous cello suites and partitas, subtly interpreted with mandolin and oud. Nobody is guaranteed to fall asleep here.

Two exceptional musicians from the STEGREIF.orchester whisk the audience away into a world of space, sound and light, into which they immerse themselves and awaken with renewed energy. The centrepiece of the concert: the Chaconne in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. The musicians say: ‘The Chaconne, as the central work, becomes the leitmotif of a station concert that combines the three pillars of our work - classical music, improvisation and composition.’

Wild Strings

Bringing the principle of the fugue into the present day: instead of remaining in awe of their baroque role models, the trio revitalises their art of fugue with the spirit of jazz. Improvisation, strictly composed form, fine chamber music and uninhibited grooves. With daring curiosity, they explore four sound languages, right up to the ‘super-ultra-hyper-mega-meta’ key, a harmony concept made famous by Jacob Collier at the latest.

The young Polish cellist loves to expand the sound spectrum of the cello, oscillating between classical and contemporary music, often electronically driven to hymn-like grandeur. In her first solo album, she explores the mystical richness of dreaming and the fiction of the subconscious in spherical soundscapes.
