The Armed Man is a monumental work that encompasses portions of the Christian Mass; poetry of such venerable authors as Kipling, Tennyson, Dryden and Swift; and the Islamic call to prayer. It has been performed 3,000 times around the world since its premiere in 2000 at the Royal Albert Hall, London. This expression of a call for peace opens with the choir marching as they sing the famous 500-year old melody from France, ‘L’homme armé’ (The Armed Man). Trumpets and drums also highlight other martial movements interspersed with those of reflection, ultimately ending with hopeful words from the Tales of King Arthur, ‘Better is Peace than War’.

Matthew Good is a multi-platinum selling Canadian recording artist, best known for his signature vocal style, guitar-driven melodies, and cinematic lyrics.

He began his career as the frontman for the Matthew Good Band, one of the most successful Canadian alternative rock bands during the 1990s and early 2000s. Good’s body of work includes thirteen full-length studio albums, four EPs, two compilation LPs, and one live album. The Beatles changed rock history with the release of this career defining greatest hits collection fifty years ago. Universally known as the Red and Blue albums, the four-record anthology was the introduction to The Beatles’ music for subsequent generations. From the first single (Love Me Do) to the last (Let It Be) these albums traced the evolution of The Beatles as the most successful artists of the century.

This approach aims to dispel myths, reshape narratives, and deepen understanding of substance use and toxic drug poisonings, while emphasizing the interconnectedness of health and nonmedical factors in response to the ongoing crisis in our community.
