InConcert Sierra, originally founded in 1946 as the Twin Cities Concert Association (TCCA), began under the sponsorship of the Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce in California. The organization was established to create a concert series featuring renowned professional musicians and to expose musically inclined children to world-class talent. The inaugural concert took place on October 10, 1946, at the Grass Valley Veteran’s Memorial Building, featuring Charles Kullman of the San Francisco Opera. Despite its early success, historical records of TCCA vanished for over a decade. From the 1960s to 2010, the organization evolved through various forms, including presenting larger concerts and chamber ensembles. In 1994, Ken Hardin was appointed to lead the newly formed community Orchestra Panache, becoming artistic director in 1999. He also founded the Sierra Master Chorale in 2008, now directed by Alison Skinner. In 2010, TCCA was rebranded as InConcert Sierra to enhance marketing and reflect its expanded reach. The organization owns a handcrafted French harpsichord and a Grotrian Concert Grand Piano, with performances primarily held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in acoustically favorable settings.
