Shawna, Lori, and Ginette facilitate an exploration where anyone who would like to can learn how to transform a piece of paper into a garden creature – and then puppeteer it! This magical workshop will likely spark spontaneous puppet adventures at home and beyond.

Love and the Trick of Time explores our perception of time, and how the reality of loving those living with dementia changes our experience of it. Weaving together the stories of care partners, it lifts the veil on what it is to love someone living with the disease as time becomes non-linear, transporting you from the present to the past to an uncertain future. Along with rich, unforgettable individual storytelling, these narratives are woven into music performed by the Golden Threads Choir – a unique ensemble of people living with dementia along with their care partners – whose singing elicits joy, connectedness, and relationship to memories. This multidisciplinary production showcases the songs, stories, visual art and voices of people living with dementia in addition to those of their loved ones, capturing the essential fabric of community and connection at its core.

Adventure into a world of Caribbean folklore with Lulu as she embarks on a life-altering journey she didn’t know she signed up for. With her ailing grandmother in the hospital and her estranged father back in town, Lulu finds herself in the company of Anansi, a mythic trickster. To find the key to save her life as she knows it, Lulu arrives in the mystical folk realm, a world on the verge of collapse, where she encounters beings she’s only heard about in stories and new lessons to be learned. But with time running out, will she discover the hidden secrets or will everything be lost forever?

Diving into his world of thoughts and poetry, 1s1 Theatre’s latest production Qalb – A Journey of the Ego is about heart and resilience. Inspired by Dawn Jani Birley’s life as a Deaf person facing audism, her struggle for equity is relatable to all dealing with oppression. Birley turns to the philosophy of Rumi to transform her isolation, anger, and frustration into a force of love in the world.

In the beginning Marianne and Roland meet at a party. They go for a drink, or perhaps they don’t. They fall madly in love and start dating, but eventually they break up. After a chance encounter in a supermarket they get back together, or maybe they run into each other and Marianne reveals that she’s now engaged to someone else and that’s that. Or perhaps Roland is engaged. Maybe they get married, or maybe their time together will be tragically short.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls follows the story of 9-year-old Fiona who comes out as a boy and wants to be called Fin. Fin has always had this feeling – knowing something is different but not knowing what it was or how to say it. As Fin cuts his hair short and changes his name, his family works to understand and adjust to Fin’s gender identity. Dad is accepting of the change right away, but Mom doesn’t quite get it at first. Always from a place of good intentions, we see Fin’s family struggle with this change and through the course of the play ultimately begin to accept and embrace Fin for who he is.

The Space Chums are an Outer Space Rock Spectacular for Kids and their Families. Their super-catchy electro-pop hits will get every earthling dancing and rocking out – right to the last triumphant chord!
