Gathering to Thrive @ Lucien Blackwell Community Center will include programs designed for the sharing, exploration, and discovery of new pathways to holistic health and wellbeing for Black and Brown women in West Philly.

This is the second of four public event offerings. It will feature a 90-minute panel led by and centering the voices of emergent and master healers with practices intersecting within the fields of alternative medicine and herbalism, childcare and self-care, art and creative resilience. As essential elements of healing and catalysts of growth— art, music, poetry, and ritual are incorporated into this dynamic wellness exchange program.

Painted Bride Art Center

Join mythmedia Studios and Painted Bride Art Center, in partnership with Ulises, for the launch of Volume 5 of the Escape Artist Mixtape zine and new podcast series with Mixtape Founder and host Li Sumpter. The night will include an artist talk special guests from the podcast Rashid Zakat and Andrea Walls, refreshments, and music by Zakat.

Ulises

Join us for a movement workshop with dancer Mawu Ama Ma’at Gora, on the art of dance as a practice of creativity and wellness. A catered lunch by That Pikliz Jawn will be provided.
