Prologue / Épilogue are two tableaux from Compagnie Virginie Brunelle’s creation Fables, premiered in 2022. As the title suggests, they represent the beginning and conclusion of the work, marking a strong duality. Two universes confront each other: the heavy darkness of the first contrasts violently with the bright light of the second, symbolizing both the implacable spiral that traps humanity in a disconnection from the other, and the utopia towards which the protagonists aspire, uniting to celebrate life. Intense brutality, unrestrained physical exertion and palpable ardor punctuate this dance journey.

Les Soirées 100Lux feature five short pieces by local and national streetdancers. The artistic and general co-directors of 100Lux are proud to support this project, which provides a great creative impetus for the artists in our community. Tangente is the only theatre in Québec devoted entirely to the promotion of emerging contemporary dance artists. A true artistic incubator, Tangente plays an essential role in the development, support and promotion of up-and-coming talent and emerging practices, offering audiences unique artistic experiences.

La Soirée dont vous êtes les héros

Put on your slippers, get yourself a drink, and take in two artistic offerings during an eclectic and lively evening! Following three weeks of exploratory research in our very own underground, Espace Vert, the artists will offer you the fruit of their experiments in the form of a public presentation. With this new presentation model, Tangente opens the doors of its laboratory to cultivate a privileged and intimate relationship between artists and spectators.

Partnering with Tangente and Centre Kapwa, the festival focuses this 2025 edition on celebrating pride, creativity, community involvement and recognition, while staying true to the festive atmosphere of its previous edition.

It highlights the various identities of the Asian diaspora, particularly the Filipino community. Tangente and Festival Accès Asie will be presenting three activities by a Filipino team: the choreographic work PIÑA by FakeKnot, with its accompanying exhibition featuring pieces made from pineapple leaf ﬁbre, and DJ workshops hosted by DJ Diana C. Reyes (Fly Lady Di) in collaboration with Centre Kapwa.

This series of 5 workshops is intended for all aspiring DJs. Regardless of your level or goals, this comprehensive course will help you learn the fundamentals and develop the right mindset to master this art form.

 

The course will introduce you to the theory behind DJing, help you gain technical and practical skills, and let you develop your own musical identity. You’ll learn all the basics, from crate digging and building to beatmatching, cue points, scratching, cueing, looping, sampling, and blending.
