A Tribute to the Legendary Linda Ronstadt

Park City’s BalletNEXT presents The Devil Wears Pointe Shoes all new works program at the Leona Wagner Black Box September 15th at 6:30 PM. The program will present three new works choreographed by Michele Wiles, BalletNEXT Artistic Director and former principal ballerina with American Ballet Theatre. The first new work in the program, Petrichor, features music by Max Richter and was reviewed “as a complex work that is unexpected and keeps you guessing”. The Second work “Loves You Like Me” was originally created by Michele for the Search and Rescue Fundraiser in 2024 and performed to live original music by acclaimed singer songwriter Josh Kelly. The final ballet of the program name, The Devil Wears Pointe Shoes was created in 2023 in collaboration with the Park City Institute and features music by the Charlie Daniels Band and Lindsey Stirling.

The annual Nitya Nritya Festival is a weekend of immersion into the rich diversity of the Indian classical arts. This year, the festival is scheduled for 6-7 Sept. We bring a Sitar concert by Indrajit Roy-Chowdhury and Nilanjan Chaudhary and an energetic percussion ensemble as part of the musical offerings.

The 12th annual Utah Dance Film Festival will screen 26 films from 9 countries, including 6 films made in Utah. All the films feature dance as a storytelling medium, and film styles include documentaries, narrative works and experimental pieces. Many types of dance are represented, including ballroom, break dancing, ballet, folk dance and contemporary. Audience members who have an interest in filmmaking or choreography will enjoy these singularly unique works from across the globe. The festival is offering a free Tahitian/Rapa Nui dance workshop, and a free awards showcase. Short filmmaker Q and A sessions will follow each screening.

Twofold is an evening of original choreography by Dmitri Peskov and Meghan Durham Wall, with contributing guest choreographer Lehua Estrada, and guest performing artists from the local dance community. Twofold features new works that offer an exploration of human connection through movement, breath, stillness, language, and silence. Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company is proud to present the Moving Parts Family and Sensory Friendly Performance. This interactive dance experience is a modified version of the evening performance, RE-ACT with accommodations for individuals with sensory sensitivities, a shortened show, and narration providing insights to the art of dance. These interactive dance experiences are wiggle-friendly and allow for audience movement and vocal reactions. It is well suited for families with young children, people with neurodivergence, as well as first time theatergoers. The staff and dancers are trained to accommodate audience requests and responses. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the dance performance in their own unique way, in a safe, non-judgmental environment. ASL interpretation will be provided.

Sister Garcia and Sister Roberts are companions in San Diego, California in 2005 on a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints mission. The play is set in their missionary apartment, where we see their relationship evolve, devolve and erupt as they wrestle with the confines of the rules, and determine their relationship with food, fasting, and God.

It’s one hot night as Benise, “The Prince of Spanish Guitar,” and his Emmy Award winning production come to town as part of his global tour. Armed with his Spanish guitar, Benise will take the audience on an unprecedented and epic adventure through Spanish Flamenco, Cuban Salsa, Brazilian Samba, Parisian Waltz, exotic drumming, and more!
