Brooklyn based Wet have returned with a new sound and a new outlook, one informed by lead singer and songwriter Kelly Zutrau taking creative control. From its first measure, their new single "There's a Reason" shows how Wet's new material departs from their more ethereal earlier work. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Ben Nichols is the front man for the Memphis-based alt-country band Lucero. Lucero formed in the late nineties and the band has released seven studio albums and a couple of DVDs since 2001, each earning critical praise for the group's gritty, rootsy and almost punk approach to country-rock as well as for Nichols' emotive, whiskey-soaked vocals. During breaks from Lucero, Nichols began recording more acoustic-based material and an EP featuring a stripped-down trio of Nichols on acoustic guitar, Rick Steff (Cat Power) on accordion and piano and Todd Been (Glossary) on pedal steel and electric guitar appeared under Nichols' name in 2009 from Liberty & Lament Records. Titled "The Last Pale Light in the West," the EP's seven songs are all based on characters and situations drawn from Cormac McCarthy's novel Blood Meridian.

Somewhere in the blur of endless touring, Anxious vocalist Grady Allen was sitting in a hotel room and stumbled upon a name typed into a long-forgotten memo on his phone: Bambi. “We should have named the band Bambi,” he recalls admitting to his bandmates. Alan Sparhawk has always been a prolific, protean musician. A restless soul eager to explore unfamiliar sonic and psychic terrain. Though he’s obviously (and justifiably) best-known for his thirty years as frontman of the legendary band Low, a look at Sparhawk’s many side projects across that same span of time shows him experimenting with everything from punk and funk to production work and improvisation. Low itself never settled for a set sound or approach. The band was always a collaboration—a conversation, a romance—between Sparhawk and his wife, Mimi Parker, who was the band’s co-founder, drummer, co-lead vocalist, and its blazing irreplaceable heart. Thee Sinseers are a powerhouse of soul and R&B; evocative of their hometown of East L.A.'s Friday evening cruises, Saturday night backyard boogies, and Sunday afternoon barbecues that helped shape a resurgence and interest in this modern wave of soul music. Led by multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter Joseph Quiñones, Thee Sinseers features a full band that includes a 3 piece horn section (Eric Johnson [Tenor Sax] Steve Surman [Baritone Sax] and Joseluis Jimenez [Trombone]), sweet vocal harmonies (Adriana Flores, Bryan Ponce, Luis Carpio), and a tight rhythm section (Christopher Manjarrez [bass], Francisco Flores [guitar], Bryan Ponce [guitar], and Luis Carpio [drums]). Thee Sinseers worked with Colemine Records in 2019 to release a 7" single (It Was Only a Dream/I Don't Mind) and are currently working with the label on a full length LP, expected in 2023. The band also released a 7" single of their viral hit "Seems Like'' with the renowned Brooklyn based label, Daptone records, under their Penrose Records imprint. The single was later included on the "Penrose Records Vol. 1" compilation released in early 2022.

Veterans of the HORDE Tour as well as runs with The Allman Brothers, Bruce Hornsby and The Black Crowes, they also released 5 albums and performed more than 1,000 shows across the United States in their first decade together.

Andrew Belle writes songs by feel. The composition first - lyrics and melody eventually follow. Only after Belle has an internal reaction to the composition do his words finally come forth - finding the right way to express what has always been there but is only now being fully realized. When it came time to record his fourth full-length album, the Chicago-based singer-songwriter, chose to take his trusted collaborators to the vaunted Sonic Ranch Studios, located on the US-Mexico border in Tornillo, Texas. The studio compound, which sits on a 1,700-acre pecan orchard, boasts the world’s largest residential recording studio complex and has been the birthplace of albums by Bon Iver, Beach House and a slew of other notable artists. A large portion of Nightshade takes on a subject that has more and more become part of our cultural zeitgeist – mental health. Specifically, how we deal with life itself and why so many seem to be drawn toward unhealthy coping mechanisms. While a few tracks address these themes head on – ‘Spectrum’, ‘Inside Voices’ and ‘Surprise Surprise’ – the album as a whole serves as a soundtrack for anyone driving out of a season of perpetual midnight in their life and toward a sunrise that's maybe a little more hopeful - through a desert just north of the border.
