The Philharmonic Society of Orange County proudly presents the season finale of the Orange County Youth Symphony, under the expert direction of Johannes Müller Stosch. The event will also feature the Orange County Youth String Ensemble, conducted by Cathy Olinger. The Orange County Youth Symphony, under the direction of Johannes Müller Stosch, will be performing alongside the Prague Youth Symphony in the renowned Dvořák Concert Hall. This concert marks the culmination of the Orange County Youth Symphony's European Tour, showcasing the talents of young musicians in one of Prague's most esteemed venues. The program features an eclectic mix of classical pieces, beginning with Dvořák's vibrant "Carnival Overture, Op. 92," followed by Coleridge-Taylor's evocative "Ballade in A minor, Op. 33." The evening continues with Gibbs' lively "Dance Suite, Op. 82, Fancy Dress," and Bizet's dramatic "Carmen Suite No. 1." The performance concludes with Korngold's "Straussiana," a piece that beautifully encapsulates the grandeur of the symphonic tradition. Established in 1970 as the area's first honors youth orchestra, the Orange County Youth Symphony has a long-standing tradition of providing young musicians with the opportunity to perform in professional settings, fostering their passion for music and honing their skills. This concert not only highlights the exceptional talent of these young musicians but also celebrates the rich cultural exchange between the Orange County Youth Symphony and the Prague Youth Symphony.
