Based in both Israel and New York, the Israeli Chamber Project is a dynamic ensemble comprising strings, winds, harp, and piano, and bringing together some of today's most distinguished musicians. Their innovative return to CMDetroit includes a unique chamber transcription of Beethoven’s “Eroica” Symphony made especially for them.

The Israeli Chamber Project is a dynamic ensemble of strings, winds, harp and piano that brings together some of today’s most distinguished musicians in concert. Based in Israel and New York, the group was created as a means for its members to give something back to the community where they began their musical education and to showcase Israeli culture through its music and musicians. In their return to Merkin Hall, they are joined by Grammy Award-winning tenor Karim Sulayman, an artist consistently praised for his sensitive and intelligent musicianship, riveting stage presence and beautiful voice.

The Israeli Chamber Project has emerged as one of the most electrifying ensembles to appear in the past decade, winning worldwide acclaim for its depth and virtuosity. For their performance at the Bing, the group joins Lebanese-American tenor and recent Grammy Award–winner Karim Sulayman in a wide-ranging program that draws on texts of love, peace, and the shared strength in community, including Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, Harrison Birtwistle’s Bogenstrich, Naji Hakim’s The Dove (Biblical) and Maronite Carols, Copland’s Sextet, and more.
