This year's festival summer not only celebrates Spain's music and artists, but also the 150th birthday of Maurice Ravel. In addition to his innovative orchestration, the French composer is known for his colorful and rhythmically sophisticated works with a Spanish influence. Ravel repeatedly focuses on one instrument: the saxophone. He greatly appreciated the instrument's sonic possibilities and played a key role in establishing it in classical music. Reason enough to offer a stage to both the up-and-coming saxophone quartet Kebyart and the French composer in this concert. The Catalan ensemble will be accompanied by award-winning pianist Juan Pérez Floristán.
