Desert Symphony

Palm Desert, CA, United States

The Desert Symphony is a distinguished orchestra based in Palm Desert, California, renowned for its performances of popular music in the southwest United States. Initially named the Indian Wells Desert Symphony, the ensemble has established a long history of excellence since its inception. Originally, the Desert Symphony's repertoire featured classical music giants such as Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Brahms. However, over time, the orchestra transitioned to performing more "pops" music to meet the growing demand from both residents and visitors in the desert region. The orchestra has had the privilege of accompanying many celebrated artists, marking its growth and versatility. Glen Campbell was the first major star to perform with the Desert Symphony, setting a precedent for future collaborations. Following him, the symphony has shared the stage with a variety of other notable performers, including Jose Feliciano, Peter Nero, the Gatlin Brothers, Art Garfunkel, Andy Williams, Roger Williams, Jack Jones, Kaye Ballard, Michael Bolton, Jason Alexander, Tommy Tune, The Texas Tenors, Neil Sedaka, Crystal Gayle, Melissa Manchester, Peter Frampton, and Mary Osmond. Beyond its concert performances, the Desert Symphony is committed to serving the community through educational and outreach programs. These initiatives are part of the orchestra's mission to enrich the cultural landscape of the region and inspire new generations of music lovers. The Desert Symphony operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the Tax ID 95-3871126. It is headquartered at 73730 Highway 111, Suite 6, Palm Desert, CA 92260.
