In Plain Site resituates the artist’s dances in unexpected locations. For this site-specific program, selections from the repertory are restaged in a dynamic relationship to their setting, expanding and amplifying Brown’s affinity for naturalizing movement to the physical environment. In dialogue with Hancher, the company will develop two distinct programs that engage audiences with the range of Brown’s artistry reframed against an array of natural and built landscapes.

Witness another side of Robert Rauschenberg in Dancing with Bob: Rauschenberg, Brown & Cunningham Onstage, a tribute marking the centennial of this American iconoclast. Rauschenberg is known for his visual art and sculptures, but he was also an avid cross-disciplinary collaborator—most frequently with choreographic legends Trisha Brown and Merce Cunningham. Together, these three figures revolutionized dance, sound, and visual art.

Trisha Brown Dance Company and Merce Cunningham Trust join forces, presenting Brown’s Set and Reset, hailed by the New York Times as “unmistakably Miss Brown at her most tantalizing.” Accompanied by Laurie Anderson’s bewitching electronic score, the choreography ripples with hypnotic, fluid energy.
