Where Have All The Buffalo Gone? follows two souls as they journey through seven important moments in Métis history – from the birth of Métis nations on the plains to the colonization driven by the fur trade, the disappearance of the buffalo, and the rise of the Métis Association of Alberta.

This moving tale weaves together stories and a life-like buffalo puppet, with true historical events to explore the love, loss, and resilience of Treaty 6’s Métis peoples. At its heart, this story celebrates the rich lessons and love stories of the buffalo. This Theatre for Young Audiences production is perfect to be enjoyed by youth ages 9 and up and is a great way to celebrate Family Day.

Where Have All The Buffalo Gone?

This original musical celebrates the Roman Catholic Church’s Year of Jubilee — a time of renewal, forgiveness, and spiritual rebirth. It follows the intertwined journeys of four main characters, each facing their own trials, doubts, and moments of despair. As they navigate the turbulence of their lives, they seek answers to their struggles through faith, prayer, and the support of one another.

Through powerful songs and heartfelt storytelling, the musical reveals how grace, compassion, and hope can lead to true redemption. Their stories are deeply moving and serve as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, God’s mercy and love can bring healing and transformation.

To The Moon: Mid-Autumn Celebration is an event to bring families together to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival in the Richmond community. This event will include activities in Gateway Theatre’s lobby, a musical performance by the talented Renee Fajardo in the Minoru Chapel next door, and a complimentary mooncake, courtesy of Anna’s Cake House!

A fun on-your-feet physical class, these acting classes give students a variety of drama skills. From vocal and movement exploration to character-based improv, story-creation to script work, acting on film to acting on stage, students learn to work together as a group towards a shared goal.

The show features a music concert with performances that include a piano and guzheng duet, a piano and violin duet, a guzheng ensemble, and a vocal performance. The concert generally involves musician friends and my students of both instruments (piano and guzheng). Guzheng is a Chinese instrument also known as “zither.”

In Wildwoman, we follow the story of Catherine de Medici, the young newlywed of King Henry II of France, who thinks her life at court will be a fascinating forum of political discourse. Instead, the palace is a cruel and disturbing place where her singular function is to be a baby-making machine for male heirs. Even the other women at her side, a scheming lady-in-waiting and the king’s power-hungry mistress, seem to mostly fend for themselves. The only kinship she finds is with the paperback-romance hot, head-to-toe hair wildman kept in the dungeon as one of the king’s collection of caged oddities. His friendly and feral presence gradually awakens Catherine’s own wild side, and once she unleashes it, no one is safe from her vengeful wrath.
