There's an imaginary train that crosses the world, connecting Italy with Chile. The train of desires passes through Florence, Rome, Bucharest, and Berlin, and at each stop, someone boards. On this magical train, Florentine singer-songwriter Giulio Wilson and writer Federico Bonadonna meet Jorge and Marcelo Coulon, founders of the Chilean band Inti Illimani. Through a kaleidoscope of songs and memories, the four recount, through music and (few) words, the group's sixty years of activity: from their first album in 1967 to "Agua," recorded with the Florentine singer-songwriter, through Violeta Parra and Victor Jara, from the 1973 coup to their exile and their return to their homeland. The Days of the Dead are rooted in time. The season ushering in winter offers the most fitting symbolism to celebrate the sleep of death. From October 31st to November 2nd, it is a liminal point on the calendar, a point of transition between the living and the dead. The journey among the dead is one of the oldest imagined by man; from the Odyssey onward, it has been an uninterrupted flow of stories, poems, legends, beliefs, and rituals. To celebrate life, we must be aware of death, and the Day of the Dead offers us the opportunity to do so. The dead must be brought to life, celebrated, nourished, invited, and made to dance. From Mexican calaveras to medieval triumphs of death, from cemetery marches to resurrection marches, from ferrymen to sirens, many bridges open between the world of the living and the world of "truth."
This is the journey of this concert, which takes its title from a famous song by Carmina Burana, a mocking title to exorcise the fear of death by dancing with it.

Lino Guanciale plays a son who has lost his father, perhaps Napoleon, perhaps a God, perhaps just a man. Amid the falling snow and the chill that envelops the breath, the story grapples with loss and the necessary reconstruction.

Giuseppe Verdi was once asked, "Maestro, if your house was on fire, which of your works would you save?" Verdi thought about it for a while and then answered, "My hunchback." RIGOLETTO, composed in 1851, was Verdi's favorite title; on the one hand surely because of the memory of his bitter struggle with censorship to be able to bring it to the stage (the subject from which it is based, Victor Hugo's "Le Roi s'amuse," had been banned), and on the other because it constitutes a milestone in the evolution of his artistic path, to the point that he called it a "revolutionary opera." RIGOLETTO is an opera full of finesse that set the standard for composers around the world and famous melodies such as "Questa o quella per me pari sono," "Bella figlia dell'amore" and "La donna è mobile."

In 2026, Italy will celebrate its patron saint, "the most Italian of saints": Saint Francis, who died 800 years ago. Aldo Cazzullo and Angelo Branduardi tell the story of the saint, or rather, the stories. The Saint Francis of devotion: the wolf, the sermon to the birds, the stigmata. The Saint Francis of history: his conversion, his dispossession, his relationship with the Pope, the birth of the order, the crusade, his meeting with the sultan. Saint Francis the poet: the Canticle of the Creatures. The great Franciscans, from the tertiaries—Dante, Columbus—to the saints: Saint Anthony, Padre Pio. Up to the first Pope named Francis.
