The Jacksonville Symphony is a preeminent musical institution located in Jacksonville, Florida, renowned for its commitment to excellence in symphonic music. Founded in 1949, the Symphony has established itself as a vital part of the cultural landscape of North Florida and has gained a national reputation for artistic quality. The Symphony performs in the acoustically lauded Robert E. Jacoby Symphony Hall within the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts, as well as at various venues throughout the state. Under the leadership of President and CEO Steven Libman and Music Director Courtney Lewis, the organization reaches an audience of over 113,000 individuals annually through more than 125 performances each season. The Jacksonville Symphony takes pride in its educational initiatives, which are central to its mission of enriching the human spirit through music. The Symphony believes in the transformative power of music education and actively supports it through various programs. It serves four county school districts, impacting over 35,000 students, and offers free tickets to children under 18 for selected concerts. The Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestras (JSYO) cater to over 300 young musicians, providing them with high-caliber training and performance opportunities.
